Shopping addiction, or formally known as compulsive buying disorder (CBD), is the obsession with shopping and buying things that causes adverse consequences. Eighty percent of the people who are considered shopping addicts are females and the age group ranges from late teens to elderly women. They use their money, their family's money and credit cards in order to feed their addiction. This addiction is chronic and can have some major side effects if it is not stopped early on. Shopping addicts are usually two types of people: those who spend way beyond their funds or people who constantly think about making purchases and window shop daily. TV Addiction

TV addiction is becoming a more and more widespread addiction as technology takes over America. There are people who now spend almost every hour of every day watching television. Because of this, there are higher amounts of overweight children and adults and there are a lot less people who do productive things with their day-to-day lives. When someone has an addiction to TV, they give up everything they care for because their new focus is TV. People have been known to have their food hand delivered to them so that they did not have to get up and miss something on the screen. Tobacco Addiction Treatment

Tobacco addiction treatment has improved a great deal in recent years. Because tobacco was first considered to be beneficial, there wasn't any reason for treatment. But, because of the number of people who have died due to tobacco, a solution had to be created. Most people believe tobacco use is not really an addiction and that it is mostly a matter of personal choice, but the truth is, the nicotine and other additives in tobacco products are highly addictive.  Someone who is accustomed to a certain level of nicotine intake will experience withdrawal symptoms if the product is withheld. Tobacco addiction can take months to overcome and some people spend thousands of dollars in different treatment options. Addiction

Addiction occurs when an individual begins chronic, compulsive drug seeking behavior and continues regardless of any negative side effects or consequences to them or their family.  Abuse of drugs most often leads to addiction, and can be just as harmful to the individual and their family as addiction. Many addicts mistakenly believe that they are the only one affected by their addiction and are so absorbed in themselves that they don't notice when friends or family begin to suffer.  Most addicts only worry about their problems and how to get the next fix so they can get high and avoid the problems.  They usually never look around and see how their children are suffering or how it is affecting their spouse, siblings, parents, employers or friends.  An addict leaves behind a trail of broken relationships and emotional turmoil that will take great effort to repair.
